Daycare
This program is for children from 2 ½ to 5 years of age. Our Daycare program offers free play, crafts, gym, outside playground, phonics, and circle time, where the children experience weekly educational themes. The goal of this program is to provide child-centered, play-based learning experiences in a safe and nurturing environment that fosters growth and development socially, physically, intellectually, creatively, and emotionally. An average day in our daycare program includes a balance of structured activities and free play to support children’s development and interests. Throughout the day, children participate in Classroom Play, Snack and Lunch times, Circle Time, and Centre Time, which may include science experiments, math activities, games, cooking, and art. Both indoor and outdoor free play are incorporated daily to encourage active exploration.
Children also have a scheduled Nap or Quiet Time. Those who wake early are given the opportunity to engage in quiet play in the gym.
We offer a Phonics program to support early literacy skills. Once a month, children can participate in Show & Tell and enjoy a Hot Lunch program.
Throughout the year, we plan special field trips which may include visits to the Pumpkin Patch, Play Abby, Local Playgrounds and the Library. Transportation for these outings is provided by The Open Door’s 24-passenger bus.
